Cirque du Soleil: Cirque du Soleil announced its first Tampa Bay area performance just five months prior to the opening of the limited engagement of "Quidam." Through an aggressive media outreach campaign, information was quickly distributed and coverage coordinated, generating a variety of print, broadcast and online media messages throughout the target market prior to and throughout the show's run. Promotional campaigns and participation in
special events contributed to these awareness-building efforts. Ticket sales quickly built for groups, corporations, organizations and individuals and remained strong throughout the limited engagement.
Response to "Quidam" was outstanding. The Tampa Bay premier was extended two additional weeks. A second Cirque du Soleil touring show was scheduled for the Tampa Bay area within less than two years and Public Relations + was again hired to manage publicity on a local level. "Alegria" achieved even higher per show ticket sales than "Quidam." In fact promotional programs planned for the final weeks of the tour were called off due to the high demand for tickets. Millions of dollars worth of publicity were generated due to news coverage, promotional partnerships and cooperative marketing programs. Varekai continued to sell well approaching capacity crowds throughout its run.
Restaurant Case Study: Pre-opening through current publicity efforts for PELAGIA Trattoria, an independent, street-level restaurant located at International Plaza, positiones it as one of the top restaurants in Tampa based on restaurant reviews, readership polls and industry accolades.
The grand opening event attracted local media personalities, local business leaders, elected officials and epresentatives of the Tampa Bay travel industry.
The executive chef appears on local television broadcasts throughout the year, is a contributor to recent cookbooks published by the Tampa Junior League and Tampa Bay Culinary Society and has been featured in Tampa Bay Illustrated, Tampa Bay Metro, DuPont Registry, Industry and The Link magazines.
Through on-going public relations efforts, news regarding entertainment, new food items, cooking classes, wine tastings and pairings, public and private fund-raising events and special occasion menus related to PELAGIA are
regularly pitched, presented and published in local media outlets.
